Poll cards issued for Sussex Police and Crime Commissioner Election

 

Voting For voters in Arun, the election timetable has started to gather pace.

18 March 2019 will see the publication of the Notice of Election for the District and Town / Parish elections which are being held on 2 May 2019, kick-starting a busy time for Arun District Council.

All 54 seats in the 23 wards of Arun District Council will be up for election together with all 265 seats across the 24 Town and Parish Councils within the Arun District.

The Council will publish the Statement of Persons Nominated on Arun’s website and at the Arun Civic Centre, Littlehampton and Bognor Regis Town Hall by 4pm on 4 April. You will then be able to see who is standing for election and can make the decision of who will get your valued vote.

Poll cards confirming voting arrangements will be sent to those already on the electoral register between 18 March and 3 April. If you aren’t already registered, your application to register to vote in these elections must be received by Arun District Council’s Electoral Registration Officer, Nigel Lynn by 12 April at the latest.

The easiest way to register is online at www.gov.uk/register-to-vote, by phoning our helpline on 01903 737616 or by visiting the Arun Civic Centre or Bognor Regis Town Hall to complete an invitation to register.

You can change your voting arrangement to vote by post or at a polling station as long as your application is received by 5pm on 15 April 2019. More information on this process can be found on the Arun District Council Website at https://www.arun.gov.uk/arun-district-council-elections

Nigel Lynn, Chief Executive and Returning Officer, Arun District Council said “Your vote is vital. This is your opportunity to help to select the representatives who will make the laws and policies that govern how we live in this District. It is the main way in which you can influence decisions about your local area. Please use your vote by going to a polling station or by registering for a postal vote, to make your voice heard.”
