Severe Weather Emergency Protocol (SWEP) activated – due to extreme heat

Bright yellow and orange sky with a blazing sun and rays of light, overlaid with bold blue text reading “Severe Weather Emergency Protocol (SWEP) activated.” The Arun District Council logo appears in the bottom right corner.Due to the red heat-health alert' (HHA) over the next few days, extra support is being put in place for people sleeping rough.

This means our outreach team will be visiting known rough sleepers to offer water, sunscreen, and advice on how to stay safe in the heat and where they can access shade and support.

We will also be providing local hubs with additional supplies of water and sunscreen

If you are concerned about someone sleeping rough, please make a referral via https://www.thestreetlink.org.uk/ so they can be connected to local support.
