Recycling bins
We provide each household with one recycling bin. If you have lost or damaged your recycling bin, you can request a new one using our online form.
Rubbish bins
We provide a free 180‑litre general waste bin to most households.
Different arrangements apply for flats, shared properties and some rural areas, where suitable alternatives will be provided.
Our crews will only collect general waste from a 180‑litre wheeled bin or smaller.
If you already have a suitable general waste bin, you can continue to use it. You will need to request an approved bin sticker from Arun District Council and place it on the lid so our crews know it can be collected.

Our crews will collect one 180‑litre general waste bin per property.
We encourage residents to reduce their general waste as much as possible by making full use of:
- fortnightly dry mixed recycling collections
- weekly food waste collections
Additional bins
In some cases, an additional bin may be provided. This is usually for larger households, such as those with five or more people, where one bin is not enough.
To be considered, you must be using the available recycling and food waste services. If this applies to you, please use the online application form to request a second bin.
