How we use social media

We have social media accounts for Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and YouTube. You can find links to our main social media pages on our website. Where individual services have their own social media presence you can find links on the relevant pages. Our social media sites are managed Monday to Friday during office hours.

Opendata

The government has promised to open up data across the public sector to increase public accountability as part of their transparency agenda.

We will publish data openly to demonstrate transparency in operations, and we will allow access to it free of charge (subject to copyright and licence permission).

Maps are reproduced on our website with the permission of the Ordnance Survey (OS) on behalf of The Controller of HMSO, Crown copyright. All rights reserved.

Unauthorised reproduction infringes Crown copyright and may lead to prosecution or civil proceeding. When a viewer wishes to reproduce OS material, in any way, they will be directly responsible for obtaining prior permission from Ordnance Survey.

Planning applications 

Any planning application and its associated paperwork is published lawfully as a public register, in accordance with planning legislation. This information is held both manually and electronically and is used only for planning purposes. The electronic record will be retained in perpetuity.

We will make every effort to blank out personal telephone numbers, email addresses and signatures on documents submitted post 1987.

We make every effort to check and test the material on our website for malicious software or 'malware'.
