2 hour free parking disc terms and conditions
- These Terms and Conditions apply to Bognor Regis Car Parks namely, Fitzleet, Hothamton and Lyon Street car parks, and Littlehampton Car Parks namely, Anchor Springs, St Martins and Manor House car parks only. Not transferrable to any other Arun District Council car park.
- Parking is for a maximum period of 2 hours per day. The virtual parking disc may not be used to obtain free parking more than once per calendar day.
- The Bognor Regis virtual parking disc cannot be used in conjunction with a cardboard parking disc for Bognor Regis. Any motorists found to be using both on the same day will have their virtual parking disc cancelled. No refunds will be issued.
- Upon arrival at a participating car park, the virtual parking disc holder must activate their virtual parking disc as this is not an automatic process.
- If further parking time is required motorists can purchase further time via the MiPermit app to commence from the expiry time of the virtual parking disc. Alternative payment options such as cash, card and contactless will remain available.
- A virtual parking disc is considered valid from 1st January to 31st December each year, regardless of the date of purchase.
- The purchase price of the virtual parking disc will be £3, irrespective of when during the calendar year it is purchased.
- The virtual parking disc can be renewed up to 14 days before the date of expiry. It is the responsibility of the virtual disc holder to ensure that the virtual disc is renewed prior to leaving a vehicle parked.
- If a virtual disc is not renewed 14 days after the date of expiry it may be necessary to apply for a new virtual parking disc or join a waiting list, if applicable.
- When purchasing a virtual parking disc, the name supplied will be deemed as the disc holder. The virtual disc holder is responsible for ensuring that all the virtual disc details are up to date.
- A maximum of one vehicle registration mark can be registered against the virtual disc at one time.
- Possession of a virtual disc does not guarantee the availability of a space for the holder to park.
- A person or administrator purchasing a virtual parking disc for other users should ensure that they inform and supply all users or the holder of the virtual disc with these Terms & Conditions.
- It is the responsibility of the virtual parking disc holder to update the vehicle registration logged against the virtual parking disc prior to leaving the vehicle parked.
- Should a virtual parking disc holder choose to purchase and/or manage the virtual disc online, it is the disc holders responsibility to:
- Ensure that the phone or other device is sufficiently charged to ensure the necessary update/renewal is made prior to parking the vehicle.
- Check the accuracy of the virtual parking disc details which have been provided as Arun District Council cannot be held responsible for customer errors which result in the issue of a Penalty Charge Notice.
- Internet access or connectivity/signal difficulties are not considered valid reasons for a vehicle to park without a valid virtual parking disc as it is the responsibility of the disc holder to ensure that the virtual parking disc is valid prior to parking.
- The virtual disc holder can use any parking space in the car park for which the virtual parking disc was issued with the exception of parking spaces allocated for a specific user.
- It is the responsibility of the virtual parking disc holder to obtain information as to where the virtual parking disc is valid.
- The vehicle for which the virtual parking disc applies must be parked wholly within the markings of a bay. If this is not possible, alternative parking must be found.
- The council reserves the right to vary its parking arrangements at any time without notice.
- If a virtual parking disc is suspected of being misused, it will be withdrawn and no refund will be issued.
- It is only permitted to use a virtual parking disc for the purpose of parking a vehicle.
- Arun District Council accepts no liability for loss or damage to any vehicle including the fittings or contents.
- Failure to comply with the Terms & Conditions and the Arun District Council Parking Order may result in a Penalty Charge Notice being issued.
- Arun District Council uses the data you provide to process virtual parking discs which are issued in respect of off-street parking places. All processes are carried out using secure systems. The data is required to carry out the efficient provision of parking services within the administrative District. The information you provide will only be used for the parking related purposes for which it was obtained.
Penalties
A Penalty Charge Notice will be issued if these instructions/ conditions of use and the regulations contained within the current parking order are not complied with. Specifically, a Penalty Charge Notice will be issued if:
- A valid parking permit, parking disc or parking ticket is not displayed, or a virtual parking disc, permit or parking ticket is not obtained.
- A valid virtual parking disc is displayed in conjunction with a valid cardboard parking disc for the same 2-hour free parking scheme to obtain more than the permitted 2 hours free parking per calendar day.
- The virtual parking disc is not activated correctly.
- The free parking period of two hours is exceeded, and
- There is a return to the parking place or any participating car park within the same calendar day and a parking disc (virtual or physical) is used again.
