Ford Neighbourhood Development Plan
The documents in the table below form stages of the Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations 2012. More information will be added as it becomes available.
Reg. 5 and 6 - Area designation
The designation of a neighbourhood area is the first formal stage in preparing a Neighbourhood Development Plan (see the Neighbourhood Planning Regulations 2012). The approved Designated areas within Arun District Council’s Local Planning Authority Area (LPAA) are shown in the Neighbourhood Areas Designation Map.pdf [pdf] 2MB
Parish and Town Councils are able to continue work on their neighbourhood plan while the proposed geography of the neighbourhood area is being determined.
Arun District Council is committed to publishing all applications received in its LPAA (in accordance with The Town and Country Planning Act 1990, The Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations 2012 Part 2, Regulation 6).
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the following Town/Parish Council has applied to Arun District Council and the South Downs National Park Authority (if applicable) for designation of Neighbourhood Area under Part 2 of the Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations 2012.
These documents indicate those areas where Arun District Council has received an application to designate a Neighbourhood Area in its LPAA.

Reg. 16 - Publicising a plan proposal
Consultation Dates: 21st June 2017 - 4th August 2017 at 5pm
Please note that any representations may include a request to be notified of the local planning authority’s decision under regulation 19 in relation to the neighbourhood development plan.
Technical error 28th June 2017
Please note that we are experiencing a technical error on the Consultation Statement and the Round up and response to comments (in the evidence base document). Some users have reported that pages 6 and 7 are blank but this is a technical error and we are working with the Parish Council to rectify this immediately. You may have more success viewing the document in a web browser than in Acrobat Reader. You can also see the contents of that page, which is a table, in this Excel spreadsheet [xlsx] 514KB or this PDF file [pdf] 173KB. We have extend the consultation period by 2 days, which is commensurate with the time taken to correct this issue.
Reg. 17 - Submission of a plan proposal to examination
Examination to commence week of 4th September and the default position for NDP examination is through written representation and not examination in public.
The submission documents including the representations received were sent to the Examiner and the Parish Council by 21st September.
Please see a summary of the representations received and the ADC Reg. 16 representation
|Reg. 18 - Publication of the examiner’s report and plan proposal decisions||
Please note that the Examiner’s Report is expected late September, should it be examined through written representation. The timetable is based on an assumption of a written representation as the default position but this will ultimately be decided by the Examiner based on the scale and nature of any representations or other issues which may become clearer upon examination. Should there be a public hearing then a notification will be published.
Update 18th September 2017
Arun District Council has received an initial note from the Examiner for suspension of the Ford NDP examination.
It concludes that, rather than pressing ahead with a hearing in the next few weeks, which would have examined many of the same issues as the Inspector at the Local Plan Inquiry, over a similar timeframe, I should suspend my examination of the Ford Neighbourhood Plan until the Inspectors report on the Arun Local Plan has been issued.
Response to initial comments by Ford Parish Council
UPDATE: 10th August 2018
The Examiner’s report has been received for the Ford NDP: Ford Reg 18 Examiner Report.pdf [pdf] 545KB
