Help your boiler spring into action

Arun District Council is giving a helping hand to those who may be struggling to heat their homes by participating in a West Sussex energy saving scheme.

Your Energy Sussex boiler replacement and insulation service, gives those who claim certain benefits and are living on a low income a contribution to the cost of replacing boilers and insulating their homes.

Those residents interested in taking advantage of the scheme can call Arun District Council to check if they are eligible and will be asked some simple questions to see if they meet the criteria for financial support.

Councillor Paul Wotherspoon Cabinet Member for Community Services at Arun District Council, said: “Having a badly heated home when the weather is changeable can lead to health problems as well as being unpleasant.

“Supporting those in our District who need our help is one of the Council’s key aims so I am delighted Arun is supporting this worthwhile scheme.”

The initiative is financed through the Government’s national Energy Companies Obligation (ECO) fund.  It is run by West Sussex County Council and supported by Arun District Council.

The Council’s Home Energy Visitors Emma Pagett and Jo Williamson are on hand to offer advice and explain how the scheme works.

If you want to check your eligibility or think you might qualify for the scheme or would like more information please contact Emma and Jo on 01903 737 862 or you can email Emma.Pagett@arun.gov.uk or Jo.Williamson@arun.gov.uk
