Annual Canvass 2024 - reminder
Each year, we are required by law to undertake the Annual Canvass to make sure our electoral register is complete and accurate. This is so we have the correct information about who lives at your address at the present time.
We started the process by sending letters to around 9,500 households and if you have received one of these letters you need to respond to it by Sunday, 29 September 2024.
It is a legal obligation to respond, and you would have been provided clear instructions about what you need to do.
Once we have received your response, we will ask each newly added, eligible, member of the household to register to vote. A canvass response does not automatically register anyone to vote. The easiest and quickest way to register to vote is online: Register to vote - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)
If you haven't received one of these letters, then we will be in touch in November instead, either by email or by letter.
