Arun District Council logo top right. We are a small team and whilst we can no longer offer a face-to-face service, if you need to contact the Revenues and Benefits team about anything relating to your Council Tax charge, Housing Benefit, Council Tax Reduction, overpayment and debts, or discretionary awards you can still do so.

Council Tax

If you are on a low income, you might be able to claim Council Tax Reduction, or CTR, to help pay some or all your council tax charge.
Please visit our web page to learn more or claim online.

Housing Benefit

Housing Benefit can help pay your rent if you are on a low income. It has been replaced by Universal Credit for most working age people so you can only claim if you have reached State Pension Age or you are living in supported, sheltered or temporary housing.
Please visit our web page to learn more or claim online.

Removal costs, rent in advance or rental shortfalls

If you receive the housing element of Universal Credit or Housing Benefit and need help with removal costs or rent in advance to move to affordable accommodation, we may be able to help with a Discretionary Housing Payment (DHP).

DHP may also be able to help for a short time with a shortfall between your housing benefit/housing element and rental charge.
Please visit www.arun.gov.uk/discretionary-housing-payments to learn more or apply online.

You can also contact us about any of the above by emailing
