Be aware of potential scam calls claiming to represent Arun Wellbeing 22 June 2015

Arun District Council has received a report from a member of the public advising that they were contacted by a man claiming to be from the Arun Wellbeing Team in Littlehampton.

The caller attempted to sell natural health products, requested bank details and gave the impression that they had access to the person’s medical records. The person became suspicious and ended the call.

Hazel Flack, Wellbeing Partnership Manager, said: “The Arun Wellbeing Team does not sell natural health products and would never contact members of the public to obtain bank details for this purpose. Any call of this nature should be reported to the police as it has no connection to the Arun District Council Wellbeing Team.”

Police Community Support Officer, Michelle Davies from Sussex Police said: “Please be aware of suspicious calls, check people are who they say they are, never share your personal information, make decisions in your own time and if in doubt report it.”

If you suspect you have been a victim of a scam please report this to Action Fraud on 0300 123 2040 or the police by calling 101 or emailing 101@sussex.pnn.police.uk
