Community fun day – huge success!
The community fun day on Wednesday 7 August saw at least 400 people attend the Bersted Green hub in Bognor Regis.
A sunny day was enjoyed by many at this event organised by the Arun hub for the local community, offering (mostly) free activities to occupy children and families.
West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service were a major hit with everyone, face painting created the longest queue, all the children enjoyed the sack race, egg and spoon race and silly games.
There was also craft making, yoga, Poi Passion Circus showing off their skills, indoor curling. a tombola, sing-along live music from Matt and Pete and even a cave man!
Representatives from Arun District Council were there to offer support and advice, with bike safety marking on-site and the Arun Wellbeing team there to educate on lifestyle changes. West Sussex County Council ‘children and family’ staff attended.
The organisers want to thank you all the fabulous partner organisations, charities and local enterprises who gave up their time to support the event - Sons and Angels of Anxiety, Mind, free school uniform for families run by Anne Francis and all the volunteers. You all made this day such an enormous success - it was fantastic to see so many families present and interacting with the services and joining in the activities.
