Could you be eligible for a grant to make your home warmer?

Are you looking at ways to improve the energy efficiency of your home so you can reduce your energy bills?

Arun District Council, in partnership with other local authorities, has been successful in securing Government funding for the Warmer Homes programme and is keen that residents don’t miss out.

Funding under the Warmer Homes programme is available until March 2023, for the following energy efficiency measures:

  • Insulation
  • solar PV panels
  • air source heat pumps

If your home is on-gas, funding of up to £10,000 is available. If your home is off-gas, funding of up to £25,000 is available. Funding availability through the programme is subject to eligibility, technical feasibility and your home’s EPC rating.

You may qualify for the funding if you meet the following criteria:

·    Your home has an EPC rating of E, F or G (limited funding is available for EPC D rated properties).

And either:

·    You have a total household annual income of £30,000 or less (before housing costs/bills)

Or:

·    You receive a means-tested benefit

This programme is available to owner occupiers and private rental tenants only. If you are a private rental tenant, your landlord will be required to make a financial contribution.

Funding is offered on a first-come, first-served basis and applications take no longer than five minutes.

Councillor David Edwards, Chair of the Environment Committee at Arun District Council, said:

“The Warmer Home Scheme is a great initiative and will help residents access full grants for a range of energy efficiency improvements. Helping to reduce energy bills is vital to support residents with the cost of living at a time when many people are anxious about finding the money to pay their bills.”
