Did you know…the revised Taxi Licensing Policy comes into force on 1 April 2024?
The revised Taxi Licensing Policy was approved by Licensing Committee on 15 December 2023, and will come into force on 1 April 2024. The revised Policy will introduce maximum age criteria for taxis from 1 April 2025, and a requirement for new vehicles licensed from 1 April 2030 to be ultra-low emission vehicles. Work will also start this year to consult further on potential introduction of CCTV in licensed taxis, with a further report and draft policy to go back to the committee if needs be.
