Felpham Art Trail Installations

Tiger Chainsaw Sculpture Installation Arun District Council has commissioned the installation of eight wooden sculptures throughout the Blakes Mead development site in Felpham. The sculptures join an increasing number across Arun created by chainsaw artist; Simon Groves.

The sculptures are funded by S106 developer contributions and have been organised by Arun District Council’s Parks and Greenspaces team.

Chainsaw Sculptor Simon Groves, who was commissioned to create the Felpham Art Trail following the success of the Bersted Park Art Trail, has created the sculptures based on designs following a consultation event with the community.

The installations are designed to reflect Felpham’s connection to the sea, agriculture, nature and William Blake. Three of the installations set to complete the Felpham Art Trail are anticipated to be finished on site at a live carving event, which will be held on 23 March 2019 from 10am to 4pm. All are welcome to attend.

Philippa Dart Director of Services said “We are really pleased to be able to deliver this exciting project to the local area. Following close consultation with the community we are sure that the sculptures will be enjoyed by everyone.”
