Free Falls Prevention and Tai Chi course coming soon

wellbeing logo Arun Wellbeing will be returning to Angmering and West Meads (Bognor Regis) in February with its successful Falls Prevention and Tai Chi course.  The course, aimed at people who are 65 or over and who have a concern about falling, begins with an awareness workshop and is followed by an 8 week Tai Chi course.

The falls awareness workshop takes place in the first session and aims to help participants build confidence and reduce their risk of falling. This is then followed by 8 weeks of Tai Chi. Tai Chi is a fantastic form of exercise which can help improve balance and flexibility, and promote strength. The exercises can provide huge benefits in terms of helping to reduce the risks of falls in older people.

Councillor Mike Clayden, Cabinet Member for Community Wellbeing at Arun District Council, said: “Falls in older people can cause serious injuries. Courses such as this can be a huge help to anyone who is concerned about falling. If you, or someone you care for, would benefit from this course, please do get in touch with Arun Wellbeing for a free place.”

Places on the above free course are strictly limited by number.
