Local Land Charges is on the map following national award nomination

 

Arun District Council’s Local Land Charges team has been shortlisted for a national award.

Arun District Council is among six councils who could win the Best Customer Experience Award sponsored by SearchFlow at the National Local Land Charges Awards for Excellence 2016.

The winners will be revealed at an awards ceremony on Monday, 29 February, in Bristol.

The award is presented to Councils that deliver industry levels of service and celebrates and promotes excellence in customer experience.

Councillor Ricky Bower, Cabinet Member for Planning and Infrastructure at Arun District Council, said: “I am delighted to hear the hard work the Council’s Local Land Charges team is being recognised nationally.

“Despite being small in number, the team have a combined Local Land Charges experience of almost 100 years and excellent local knowledge.

“Arun’s Local Land Charges team were among 190 entries and have been shortlisted in a category of six.”

The shortlist is decided by a panel of representatives from the Local Land Charges Institute, the National Land Information Service Hub, Thames Water Property Searches, Search Flow and Land Data.

Jan Boothroyd, Chief Executive of Land Data, said: “Land Data is extremely proud to have created an Awards programme that celebrates and appreciates the dedication and hard work of local authority local land charges staff.

“Local land charges is an essential component in the conveyancing process and everyone involved in delivering this well regarded service, which uses current, accurate and timely data, deserves to be recognised.

“It is great to see so many local authorities listed who have never made it to the shortlist before, I wish them the best of luck.”

East Staffordshire Borough Council, the London Borough of Barnet, South Somerset District Council, Wealden District Council and West Devon Borough Council have also made the final six.
