New monthly artisan market for Littlehampton - 27th March 2015

An artisan market where high end arts and crafts, plus local produce will be on offer is coming to Littlehampton within the next two months.

The market is taking place on the first Saturday of every month from May to November will offer some tempting tasty treats from local producers.

It is envisaged that creatively filled gazebos, vibrant art displays and inviting attractions will draw people to experience the variety of shops available in Littlehampton. There will also be performers to keep people entertained whilst they browse and make purchases.

John Edjvet, Littlehampton Town Centre Regeneration Officer, said: “The Artisan Market continues our mission of bringing more people into the town centre to shop and boost the local economy.

“I am pleased to have been given trading consent by Arun District Council’s Licensing Committee which will allow me to work with businesses in bringing more markets to Littlehampton.

“There is a regular and successful Friday market which attracts a lot of shoppers to the town centre.  The Artisan market promises to offer Littlehampton something different. I think this could be an exciting new and regular addition to the town centre offer.”

The Artisan Market will be organised by Staci Mendoza-Quinn, chairman of Littlehampton’s Organisation of Contemporary Arts.

She said: “Littlehampton is such a friendly town filled with wonderful character and characters. It will be an enjoyable time for locals and visitors alike to mingle amongst a unique shopping experience.  More than just stalls, the Artisan Market will have more of an event feel to it.”

Local artisans and food makers interested in taking a stall can contact Staci by email loca@wotab.co.uk or call 01903 722666.
