An appeal made against Arun District Council’s decision to refuse permission for 70 houses at Lansdowne Nursery, off the A259, has been dismissed.

Although we have had it dry for a couple of days, there is more unsettled weather on the way.

West Sussex has had over 200mm of rain in the last two weeks and river levels in the Aldingbourne Rife have risen to their highest ever level. Due to the flat nature of this area, increasing the pumping capacity to move water would not be of any benefit.

As we head into the weekend the worst of the storm is behind us and the sunshine today has been a welcome reprieve. The rain isn’t leaving us for long though and we expect heavy rains again over the next few days.

As a nation of pet lovers, many of us will be worried about our furry friends this firework season.
