Summer fun at East Bank - 29 July 2015

A packed programme of free summer entertainment along Littlehampton’s new waterfront promenade kicks off this Saturday [1 August 2015] with a caricaturist.

Arun District Council has booked in a different activity on Thursdays and Saturdays throughout August 2015. The entertainment will take place at the pebble seating area between 10am to 2pm and 2.30pm to 4.30pm, and includes face-painting, a steel band and a nostalgic Punch and Judy Show.

A special event has been organised for Sunday 30 August, when the Littlehampton Concert Band will be playing from 12pm to 2pm.

Councillor Paul Dendle, Arun District Council’s Cabinet Member for Leisure and Amenities, said: “Anybody who hasn’t been to the East Bank area of Littlehampton since it was transformed should really come and take a stroll along the new promenade. And why not combine your visit with some free entertainment?

“The programme of events has been designed to draw yet more visitors and locals to this fantastic part of town, which also offers a great parade of shops and food outlets.”

The £19.8 million flood defence scheme, led by the Environment Agency with substantial partnership funding from Arun District Council and West Sussex County Council, included widening the promenade and rejuvenating the area with new seating, lighting and planting.
