As 7 May, the UK Parliamentary and District and Parish Council election day, draws closer we can now share the Statement of Persons Nominated. This is the list of individuals who you will be able to vote for to represent your community on the District and Parish Councils.

There are 5 candidates standing for the Parliamentary election for each of the 3 constituencies within the Arun District.  All 54 seats in the 23 wards of Arun District Council will be up for election, together with all the seats on the Arundel, Bognor Regis, and Littlehampton Town Councils; and the seats in the Rustington West Ward of Rustington Parish Council.  All the remaining Parish Council elections were uncontested and therefore no poll is required.   Although polling day is on 7 May, the counting of votes for these elections is taking place on Saturday, 9 May.

The Statement of Persons Nominated is available to view on the Arun District Council website www.arun.gov.uk/elections and at the Arun Civic Centre, Littlehampton and also at Bognor Regis Town Hall.  Notices will also be published on the parish notice boards around the district.  This includes details of who has been elected uncontested.

All poll cards will have been delivered to registered voters by now. If you haven’t received your poll card, it’s not too late to register your application to vote on 7 May. Visit the Arun District Council Website to find out how to do this www.arun.gov.uk/how-to-vote. There is a deadline of 20 April 2015 for applications to register. If you would like to change your voting arrangements, whether you vote at a polling station, or by post, you have until 5pm on 21 April to do this when your application must have been received by the Electoral Registration Officer at Arun District Council, Civic Centre.

Returning Officer, Arun District Council, Nigel Lynn said “I encourage you to visit our website or visit the Civic Centre in Littlehampton or Town Hall in Bognor so that you can see who you will be able to vote for. Voting in these elections is your chance to have a say in who represents your community and plays a part in making the decisions that can affect the way you live”
