Windmill Entertainment Centre update - 5 December

Windmill update 05.12 We can confirm that we are on track with our work programme. Freedom Leisure is moving forward with elements under their obligation. They have confirmed they are working with their contractors and will start internal work as soon as possible. Most of that can’t begin until the work that the council is completing is rectified.

The damaged roof has been made watertight. There is a further leak away from the damaged area that is being investigated with the loss adjuster. This is over the boiler room that was partially protected by the Harvester building.

Heating is expected to be commissioned and switched on this week and replacement ceilings are due to start this week too.

Electrical testing is due to be undertaken. The testing is only to the circuits and distribution board in the front of the building. The feed from the mains incoming to the distribution board will be checked out as part of the testing.

The auditorium has a dry pack, air movement and dehumidifiers, to help with the internal environment until heating is back on.

The situation is moving and heading in the right direction. We remain committed to getting this valuable community asset open and back in use as soon as possible.
