Residents from across the Arun District participated in a workout with a difference – the gym equipment was outdoors.
Arun Wellbeing, supported by instructors from Freedom Leisure, Arun District Council’s leisure provider, demonstrated how to use the gym equipment, which is available to use in parks across the District, during free induction sessions.
Councillor Paul Wotherspoon, Arun District Council’s Cabinet Member for Community Services, said: “I am delighted so many people took advantage of these introductory sessions.
“Parks are great places for the community to spend quality time and using the equipment will help improve health and wellbeing. Residents will also have the opportunity of discovering the beautiful green spaces we have to offer.”
The apparatus in each park was installed and funded by a range of partners including Arun District Council and local Parish Councils.
The inductions took place in Angmering Park, King George V Playing Fields in Yapton, Jubilee Playing Fields in Middleton-on-Sea, Jubilee Playing Fields in Bersted and West Park, Aldwick.
The sessions took place from Monday, 1 August until Thursday, 11 August.
