You can now recycle more

We now collect small electrical items

We now collect unwanted and broken small electrical items.

Put your small electrical items in a standard sized carrier bag, tie up and place next to your rubbish on your normal waste collection day. For anyone on the 1-2-3 Food Waste Trial this will be your recycling collection day – for everyone else it will be on your rubbish collection day

Small electrical items – what can I recycle?
You can recycle old or broken electrical items by placing them next to your rubbish bin/sacks. Items must fit into a standard size carrier bag.
YES PLEASE: Small kitchen appliances, mobile phones, DVD players, chargers, remote controls, hairdryers, games consoles, power tools, smoke detectors, Sky boxes. Please leave cables and plugs attached
NO THANKS: Vacuum cleaners, light bulbs, TVs and monitors (any size), laptops, printers, fridges and freezers, washing machines, cookers, microwave ovens

Do I have to use my own carrier bags?
Yes, you will need to reuse carrier bags leftover from shopping.

Why can’t I recycle larger items?
We can’t collect items larger than 35cm x 40cm as they won’t fit into the storage cages on our collection vehicles. You can take larger items to the Household Waste Recycling Site at Shripney Road, Bognor Regis or Mill Lane, Littlehampton. Please check opening times at Recycle For West Sussex. Alternatively you may book a bulky waste collection through Biffa (call 01903 734520).

How often can I recycle these items?
You can recycle small electrical items every time your rubbish is collected.
